The simplest thing to do is to take it back to the dealer. My 2008 Xterra had the VDC/slip light on when it was delivered. Just took it back the next day and they fixed it. After first sharp right turn, Slip dash light came on. Self-resetting did not occur while driving in straight line. Local Nissan dealer offered to "reload lost data" for $120.
